Cothrom Ltd is a Community Learning and Development Organisation based at Ormiclate on the island of South Uist in the Outer Hebrides. It serves a population of approx. 6,000 spread across 9 islands that stretch for 80 miles from Berneray to Vatersay. Cothrom has a small satellite learning centre on Barra.

The DofE is many things to many people, supporting generations to successfully navigate adult life. 14-24 year-olds can do a DofE programme at one of three progressive levels which, when successfully completed, leads to a Bronze, Silver or Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

UHI Outer Hebrides is a centre for learning and research with local, regional, national and international reach. The College was established in 1953 within Lews Castle, Stornoway, Isle of Lewis and was originally titled Lews Castle College to reflect this. It began as a provider of technical training in seamanship but since then has diversified to provide a varied curriculum at its main campus and a number of learning centres throughout the Outer Hebrides.
Volunteer Centre Western Isles
Volunteer Centre Western Isles is an independent local charity with offices and staff in Lewis, Harris, Uist and Barra.
We provide information, advice and support to individuals interested in volunteering, volunteer managers, voluntary groups, clubs and organisations, private and public sector organisations and companies.
Volunteering Hebrides leads the way in volunteering for social change across the Isles of Lewis and Harris. Connecting more volunteers with vulnerable people than any other charitable organisation in the Hebrides, we welcome people from all walks of life to join our projects.
