Poverty Awareness - for Employers and Service Providers

Venue: Online via MS Teams
Poverty Awareness: 23rd February 2023 at 11am-12 noon (delivered via MS teams)
Workshop being delivered by NHS Western Isles and the local Citizens Advice Bureau, for employers and service providers.
Poverty is multi-faceted. Many of the contributory factors are inter-dependent and cannot be addressed in isolation. Aspects of living in the Outer Hebrides can interact to increase the cost of living, income poverty and fuel poverty as well as reducing economic activity and these issues are compounded by the recent cost-of-living and energy crisis.
This workshop is designed to increase a participant’s understanding of the relationship between poverty and inequality and how it impacts on peoples lives, allowing them to identify ways in which they can provide a more effective service as well as providing signposting information to relevant agencies.
